Gallant family, I'm very sorry u had to live Phillip's lost, and sadly for us he had left us  without a goodbye. He was very well loved for his ones, and his adventurous amb warmth soul will be kept forever, as a piece of our heart and mind. 

I met Phillipe almost 7 years ago. It was one of the most exciting days I had from my trip in Vancouver.  I was crossing the river jumping throw the rocks in North Vancouver, when Hanna, Phillip & Mickael saw me and invited me without knowing who I was into their lives. From that day it began a deep friendship with many memories. 

As I'm spanish and I live in Barcelona, we didn't kept friendship as linked as we wanted for the distance, but when we saw each other years after, we were as well as we had never stop seeing each other. 

From our heart break, we shared your lost and I wish for him to be in a  peaceful place closed by Wreck Beach. When I'll come back there, he will be there taking care of me.

I met Phil because of Mike. We spent many stunning days at the beach until the sun was out, dinners at Mikes and even some parties.  We had many silly conversations or deeper ones even about politics!   He was always kind to me, really enjoying knowing he was there because having him around was a good feeling. 
He told me about his mum and sisters, I knew from his words he comes from an admirable lovely family.  Proud of being an uncle! 
I 'll remember Phil laughing, his laugh was loud and contagious.  I hope that is a beautiful memory of him for all of you too.

Phil I will always remember all the fun times we had, from the days of visiting auto shows together, to you car surfing on my Ford Tempo or just us hanging around, driving to places.

Sad news. During my last year of high school and the following couple of years, Phil was a great buddy of mine. He was part of the large crew I played cards with in the cafeteria every lunch hour my last semester at St. Thomas More. That summer, he masterminded one epic bike ride after another for us. We cycled from Hamilton to Brantford and back not once, but twice that summer. We also once rode from the west mountain to Confederation Park and back, and another night, on the way to and from and in Burlington, we rode for seven solid hours without stopping. (He also suggested cycling to Niagara Falls one weekend, but another friend and I rejected that idea as too ambitious.) We saw Aerosmith in concert together, he was a blast at parties, and he was part of a memorable mosh pit in a friend’s van after a party bright and early one morning. At another of the many parties we ended up at together, he taught me the comedic value of shredding Eggo waffles by feeding them through a table fan.

Depression is an awful disease, and it makes me sad that the hilarious, adventurous, fun-loving Phil I knew couldn’t share more of the happiness that he brought to others with himself. I lost touch with Phil 20+ years ago and never saw him again after he moved to BC. But a friend who leaves you with these kinds of memories will mean something to you forever.

Peaceful travels, old friend. I hope the road ahead, wherever it takes you, is an easier one.

I am a first cousin to Philippe’s father, Mark, and even though I have never known Philippe, I want to express my deepest condolences to Mark and Linda. 
Losing one of your family is so very hard, but Mark and Linda and family have a strong support from all their siblings and other relatives.

My candle is lit and I am in prayerful unison with hundreds of love ones across Canada,US, Korea, Scotland and Australia.  Philippe has blessed our lives in ways many of us have expressed  in the last few days and in many ways that we will only come to realize in the coming years. He was a very special soul!  As I have mentioned this week, I have a vivid memory of him telling us about how Grampa Gallant was very present to him spiritually before surgery, calming him, telling him not to be afraid, that he would be all right.  I expect that grandpa and many other loved ones in heaven are telling him once again that everything will be all right.  “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, for I will give you rest.”  Jesus of Nazareth. 

Sending all of my love to family and friends of Philippe - an incredibly loving and hilarious human being. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 

Every time Phil and I were together I felt an indescribable joy in his presence. I have so many beautiful memories of our times together. I know I’m not supposed to say this, but he was my favorite cousin and the best friend I had as a young person. Though we lived far apart, he truly taught me so much about friendship - as little kids stacking blocks and watching cartoons, as teenagers sending jokes on cassette tapes through the mail, again as teens with Cheryl meeting for Chinese food in Hamilton (when he should have been in school), then as adults walking the beach in Vancouver and rejoicing in the splendor of nature and his good health.

I feel deeply blessed to have felt the special way he made so many of us feel. He made me a better, more loving person. And I will continue to grow knowing the love and happiness we shared. 

Thank you all for sharing these memories and photos. I hope to someday soon be with you all to share a hug, walk his beach, and hear more fun stories of our times with Phil. Until then, much love and peace,

Sending condolences to your family as you begin your journey of life without your son in the physical sense. It is with great sadness that I send you my love and sympathy during this most difficult time.   Today we will gather here in Souris to be with you spiritually as you come together at the funeral home.    I am praying that the peace of the Lord Jesus will surround you all and allow good memories to come to the fore.  

My most vivid memory of Philippe is being at the top of Souris Historic Lighthouse when he was home after his surgery.  He was elated that he was able to reach the top and though it was cold and bleak up there he stretched his arms out to the sky in joy!  That is how I picture him now in Heaven!

My sincere condolences to the family of Phil Gallant. He was a great friend for twelve years. He was with my family every Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter since you all live in Ontario. My wife, grandmother, and I loved him very much. He was very kind, hilarious, and caring. This was very tragic news with lots of regret for us. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

P.S: I have enclosed one of my favourite photos I have of him, he loved the beach and would stay many times until the end of the day because he loved sunsets, he would always end up using his beach blanket for extra warmth. He also loved mineral water!
