Renolda “Renee” was born on August 18, 1927, in Preston, Cuba and went to be with Jesus on January 30, 2023 surrounded by her daughter, grandchildren and nieces.
Renee was a faithful woman who loved the Lord with her whole heart. Jesus’ work was her calling and her life’s mission and she loved her church, friends and her community.
Born in Cuba and raised in Jamaica, Renee later boarded a ship and arrived in England in 1953 to start nursing school in Liverpool. Her best memory of England was becoming a midwife and riding her bicycle to homes to delivery babies. She immigrated to Ontario, Canada and then relocated to Vancouver where she resumed her nursing career at St. Paul’s Hospital and retired from Louis Brier Home and Hospital.
Lovingly survived by her daughter Renée Holliman and her son in law James of Atlanta, Georgia, grandchildren Desirée Holliman of Nashville, Tennessee and Jarrell Holliman of Seattle, Washington. Also, her mother Loleta Eugenia Pryce. Her sisters, Ruby Rose, Bessie Crooks and Carmen. Nieces, Yvonne, Hyacinth, Barbara and Josephine and many, many other extended family members.
