Robert James McKay

Bob, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at Peace Arch Hospital on September 3rd at the age of 92. He will be deeply missed by his wife Jean of 67 years. Predeceased by daughter Ann Marie. He will be missed by daughters Janet (David), Jane (Rob), granddaughters Sarah (Rob), Stephanie (Brad), Jessica (Brandon), great-grandchildren Grace and Matthew, nieces, nephews and a special family in Vernon.

Bob was born in Vancouver and liked to tell the story that he was a "Special Delivery". He was born in the Post Office on Hastings Street now the Sinclair Centre, where his Grandfather lived and worked as the caretaker. He attended John Oliver High School and U.B.C., articled and became a Chartered Accountant. He had many fond memories of those years. During his working life Bob worked in Eastern and Western Canada, the U.S.A and later in life much time was spent in the Vernon area of the Okanagan. The time spent in the Okanagan was special and great family memories were made water fun, skiing and golfing. Family life was very important and he loved to spend time with "The Girls".

Bob expressed thanks for the 92 years he had been given, the time to enjoy many happy occasions and to remember old and new friends - nothing left unsaid.

Bob's wish was for no celebration of life. There will be a family gathering at a later date.
