Ronald Thomas Greavette was born May 14, 1937 in Kahshe Lake, Ontario, and passed away suddenly on March 21, 2020. Ron’s biggest joy was his family, and he will be sadly missed by his loving partner Darlene Miletich, his daughter Veronica Lanz (Andre), his son Guy (Kristine), his daughter Michelle McMillan (Brent), and his grandchildren, Kaleigh, Daria, Sarah, Aaron, Iliana, Rhianne, Shawna, Matthew and Tayla. Also saddened are his ex-wife Andrena (Don), extended family and many friends. Ron was a dedicated weightlifting coach and started the Vikings Weightlifting Club in 1971, which has operated for 49 years and is now run by his son. He was the past president of the Canadian Weightlifting Federation and the B.C. Weightlifting Association, and the International Weightlifting Federation honoured him with a 25-year service award for his commitment to the sport. Ron loved working on cars and was an active member of the Fifty 567 Chevy Club Lower Mainland. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
