In 1955, Shelagh emigrated to Toronto, Ontario to marry Graham. Shelagh and Graham started their new life together in Ontario raising four children. In 1969 they decided to move to British Columbia where they settled down in North Delta. It was in BC that Shelagh went back to college and became a certified pre-school teacher. She had a passion for young children which she eventually carried on with her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Shelagh loved meeting and speaking with people. She ended up working at the Vancouver Aquarium gift shop where she engaged with people every day and where she made many friends. Shelagh never missed and opportunity to remind us all that "the world would be a much better place if we treated everyone with kindness and caring."
