Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, Stephen Prakash, passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on December 25, 2025, at the age of 92.
Stephen was born in Ba, Fiji Islands, on September 25, 1933. He married Florence Satya Wati Singh on May 11, 1956, and together they built a loving life and family until Florence’s passing in July 2024. They were blessed with two children, born in 1957 and 1958. In 1964, the family immigrated to Canada, where Stephen continued his career as a skilled cabinet maker and woodworker.
Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Zillah and her husband Don, and his son Zenas and wife Prem. He was a proud grandfather to Evan (Andrea), Stephen (Meghan), Elisha (Matthew), and Natahsha, and a cherished great-grandfather to Nathaniel, Ethan, Grace, Easton, and Aspyn.
He is also survived by his brother Sewak (Sarviti), sisters Maya (Edward) and Manor (Clive), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will deeply miss him.
A funeral and celebration of life will be held at Renew Church, with all friends and family welcome to attend as we honour and remember Stephen’s life and legacy.
