Survived by her husband Donald and her children James (Susan), Terri, Kelly (Malcolm). Also Donald’s children and spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1930. She was one of seven children and the last to depart to join them again. She moved to the west coast in her twenties and married and had three children and started her career at BCTEL . Years after her first marriage was over she met Donald.
Theresa worked as a operator, a clerk and then became involved in the union and went on to become a business agent for the Telecommunication Workers Union (TWU) for many years . She worked hard for her members including people struggling with substance abuse issues and HIV at a time when people were uneducated and in fear but Theresa had compassion for all. She was respected by many and spoke about her job for many years after retiring.
After retirement Theresa and Donald enjoyed everyday together whether it be going to their place in Birch Bay, taking cruises, trekking across Canada and the USA in their 5th wheel RV, or going to El Centro California to enjoy the winter. They were both very active in their senior center both doing terms as president. They had many exciting adventures together and Donald always took such good care of her .
Without a doubt she was loved by many and remembered fondly after a single meeting. She loved her husband and her kids as much as they loved her.
Theresa was a beautiful, loving, caring compassionate supportive mother. We have a lifetime of happy memories filled with love. She will live on in our hearts forever until we meet again.
Celebration of life to follow at another time.
