My Dad Doug was good friends with Walt-- they had a lot of fun over 50 years of friendship.

I went fishing with Walt when I was a young boy- a group of us flew into a lake in northern BC. I distinctly remember one thing from that trip-- when we were flying in Walt told me that the fish in the lake had eyeballs as big as his thumb and he had a huge thumb. Well to a 10 year old kid that might as well been a whale. I was so excited !! (and we never caught anything that big haha)

Anyways - RIP Walt

Walter and I worked at the Prince George airport together. I have some great memories over some 50 years of time spent with Walter, duck and goose hunting in northern Alberta every October and fishing local lakes around Prince George BC. He was an incredible bird hunter but in addition to that he was an incredible person. He had such great stories to tell and I loved getting him to talk about his time raising bees for honey. He was so knowledgeable about his hobby. Walter was a perfectionist. He believed in doing it right- no matter how long how it took. He was a friendly, caring person. Always there with a smile, a joke, a laugh and a pat on the shoulder. I loved him and I am really going to miss him.

Am so sorry to hear that our dear friend Walt has left us. There are many happy memories of good times spent chatting during down times at Prince George Airport. Going way back there were lots of good parties at the old terminal. Walt was always happy, polite and friendly to everyone. A true gentleman who loved to fish and hunt with the guys. RIP Walter.
