Dearest Pearl,

I remember your wedding and how happy you were together.  I thought what a perfect pairing.  I was shocked to hear of Walter's passing and wish to extend my sincere condolences.

Dear Pearl, I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this. The years go by and we lost touch. Walter was a dear and valued friend for so many years. We have missed him and now this heartbreaking news!

Pearl & family, My heartfelt condolences of the passing of Walter.  A man who possessed an easy disposition and a wonderful sense of humour.  He had a gift of brightening up your day and being able to find a silver lining when things got difficult or challenging.  We are truly richer for having known Walter.

We lost one of the best in 2013. As respectful and respected man you will ever meet. He deserved a long and happy retirement with the wife that he adored.Deepest condolences to his family and all that were lucky enough to know him.

When Walter was a wee boy, his mum (Betty) used to bring him to Scotland from Vancouver in order to visit our grandparents, Tinnie and Neil McNeill. They travelled by train and boat and the journey took a very long time! Perhaps this is where Walter's life-long love of trains began.
The other great love of his life was Pearl and our thoughts are with her now and in the days to come.

My deep condolences to Pearl and the family. It is very sad that Walter never had a fair shot at retirement. Wally (as he was affectionately refered to at work) was a good and incredibly sharp man with an amazing sense of humor. Many of his trademark "Walter wittisisms" will live forever at work. He is greatly missed.

Deepest condolences to Pearl. It was with great sadness to learn of the passing of Walter who fought a courageous battle with cancer.Walter was  always fun to work and socialize with and had a tremendous heart as well as a great sense of humour and wit. I worked with Walter on the vintage tram for short time around 1999/2000 and he and I had a good time mainly because we had come from a railroad background. I  too can identify with some of the railroad pictures where Walter had been.  Going to miss your larger-than-life presence. Phil Crookes

Walter has been a true friend - I'll miss our lengthy conversations and "meetings" at Denny's.  The gang at work loved Wally's "amusing banter" which always raised a chuckle and was testament of his quick wit.

Your a friend, a co-worker, and all the guys loved you. My heart goes out to the family of Walter McNeil.

I'll miss you forever, and remember all the happy times we had together.
