William Scott Harriman

March 2, 1954November 5, 2019

Scott was born March 2, 1954 in Saskatoon to Bill and Beth Harriman. He passed away at 65 years old on November 5, 2019. Scott leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Cathy (nee Crouch) and children David (Rhea) and Laura (Alan). He was very proud of his four grandchildren who were the light of his world in recent years: Blake, Jessica, Mackenzie, and Katie. He was the elder brother of two sisters with whom he remained close throughout his life, Jane (Ken) Ambrose and Lynn (Ian) Dick. Scott is also survived by his father in law, John Crouch.

He was a proud member of Acacia Lodge #22 and Gizeh Shriners of BC and Yukon, and former member of Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia and Mortgage Professionals Canada.

Thank you to the nurses, doctors, and other health professionals who supported his care in the last years. They made a hard journey that much more bearable with their compassion.

We're so sad to learn of Scott's passing, a day we hoped we not come around so soon. Scott was a fine man and a good friend to us both. We shared some wonderful travels with Cathy and Scott over the last number of years, including trips to China, Paris (with the unexpected detour through London!), Argentina, and Arizona. Really, there should have been more of these travel adventures in our future, but it was not to be.

Despite his health challenges, Scott was positive and upbeat to be with. We'll be missing our dear friend, but this is not a goodbye, just a so long until we meet again.

Wow , I don’t even know what to say . I guess start with thank you Scott. After I sold Reo’s which Dave and Laura both worked with us and Laura babysitting my kids . After I sold , Scott was the first one who came to me and said come work for me . I was like ok what do you do ? Scotty was exporting cars to the US . Well I thought sure why not . Ended up working out of a office with Jon A and I think a guy named RJ but maybe Jonny A could tell us . I have Roto in my backyard that Scoot and Cathy gave me for a house warming present . I sit here tonight with a glass of wine and raise it to you Scotty . You picked me up when I was down and made me the man I’am today. I will miss you my friend and I promise to keep in touch with your family . Love you Scotty RIP

Richard and I are deeply saddened by the news of Scott’s passing. We have been friends of Scott and Cathy for over 40 years and will miss him dearly. Many, many happy and crazy memories of good times and great parties. We are so grateful that Scott made the effort to visit us this summer in Kelowna. Our sincere, and heart felt condolences to Cathy, David and Laura. As Scott was a very enthusiastic grandfather, I am sure Blake, Jessica, Mackenzie and Katie will miss him, but fond recollections will keep his memory alive in their hearts and minds. Love and Hugs to the entire family. Richard & Debby

I had the pleasure of working with Scott at Mainland Magazine in Langley. He was one of my boss's. He had a great sense humor and always treated me with great respect. We never kept in touch when Scott left the company but I remember him clearly. My condolences to the family for your loss.

Scott was many thing to me......he was first my boss, then my ski patrol leader and most importantly my good friend. We have been friends for over 33 years and I could call him up or he call me, even if we had not talked for several months and it would be like I talked to him yesterday. A brilliant, fun and compassionate man, who loved his family and his friends, he was so much a people person. I will truly miss our phone calls and occasional get together s.

My families condolences to Cathy, David and Laura and their respective families. The community has lost a good man!
