William was born and raised in Vancouver. His first job was working at a gold mine up in the Yukon. William later worked at Safeway for 30 years in the Lucerne Dairy plant for majority of his career. During William's spare time he enjoyed working as a "junk man," stripping down wire, finding scrap parts that could become useful, or simply just tinkering around in the garage putting his next big invention together, such as his famous back scratcher. He also liked to ski, fish from his boat and hike up Grouse Mountain. William always had a never ending love for his family and friends. He always loved planning for a new adventure to do with his grandkids, as they meant the world to him. William was greatly known for all his jokes, stories and sense of humor.
