

Alexander W. “Bill” Munro, age 82, of Naples, FL formerly of Swansea, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2015 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Jeanne (Bouffard) Munro to whom he had been married for 55 years.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Alexander and Mabel (Dean) Munro, he was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI. Bill also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Munro was the Owner, of Munro Electric in Fall River, where he started working with his father and later his sons for over 50 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Christ Church in Swansea and a member of its Vestry, a member of the American Legion in Swansea, and the Elks in Florida. Bill was on the Board of Directors of Compass bank and the Stevens Home in Swansea. He had been a member of the Fall River Country Club since 1974 and enjoyed boating, skiing and was an extensive traveler.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by five children: Scott Munro of Somerset, Sharon Uva and her husband David of North Reading, MA, Dean Munro and his wife Lori of Swansea, Brian Munro and his wife Sharon of Somerset and Kevin Munro and his wife Aimee of Swansea; fourteen grandchildren Morgann, Scott, Benjamin, Nicholas, Aria, Allie, Mikalah, Hayli, Elana, Reagan, Rachel, William, Lucas and Mabel; a sister Beverly Richardson of Mashpee, MA and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Munro and Peg Donovan.
His Requiem Eucharist will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10am in Christ Church, 57 Main St., Swansea, MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 7pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery.
