

Alice M. (Lecuyer) Walsh, age 98, of Swansea, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of James A. Walsh to whom she has been married for the past 76 years.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Arthur and Laura (Prevost) Lecuyer, she spent her youth in Fall River, resided in Swansea and lived in Seekonk for many years before moving back to Swansea in 1989.
She worked at Muriel Frock and as an Inspector at Spiedel Manufacturing for30 years before retiring in 1979. Mrs. Walsh was a communicant of the former St. Michael’s Church, now St. Francis of Assisi Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel while living in Seekonk. She loved scratch tickets and playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son: Raymond Walsh and his wife Carol, two daughters: Lillian Rounds and her husband Gregory and Claire Purdy and her husband Stephen. all of Swansea, one sister: Margaret Ryan of Phoenix, AZ, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
