

Alpherie L. Lemoi, Jr., “Red” age 77 of Yucaipa, CA died February 13, 2010 in the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. He was the husband of Mabel V. (Lamarre) Lemoi to whom he had shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, RI he was a son of the late Alpherie L. Lemoi, Sr. and Juliette (Lacasse) Lemoi. He spent his youth in Pawtucket, lived in Central Falls, North Providence, Lincoln and Smithfield, Rhode Island before moving to Hacienda Heights, California in 1977. He also lived in La Verne, CA for 27 years before moving to Yucaipa six years ago.
Mr. Lemoi attened Pawtucket West High. He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953. In 1954 he married Mabel.
Red was a quahogger, opening his own business Red’s Seafood in N. Providence, Rhode Island. He then expanded his business to Pawtucket and Cumberland, RI and Attleboro, MA. He maintained his Rhode Island business for 27 years.
He then opened Red’s New England Seafood in Arcadia, California expanding into Monrovia, Montclair, Diamond Bar and Whittier, CA until his retirement in 1997 after 54 years in business.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Upland, CA. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and traveling.
He is survived by four children; Debra Marandola and her husband Anthony, of Yucaipa, CA, Brenda McGee and her husband Norman McGee, Jr. of Somerset, MA, Alpherie L. Lemoi, III of South Pasadena, CA and Sharon Lemoi of Yucaipa, CA, one sister; Louise Chieffello of Florida, eight grandchildren; Michael and Lindsey McGee of Somerset, MA, Alpherie Lemoi, IV and Natasha Lemoi of Ontario, CA, Alysha Dugger and her husband Richard of Twentynine Palms, CA, Lauren and Justin Garcia and Michael Hajkowski, Jr. of Yucaipa, CA and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Raymond Lemoi.
Private services were held and honored by his loving family.
