Born and raised in Barrington, a daughter of the late Angelo and Elisa (Popolizio) Dalessio, she was a longtime resident of Swansea.
She attended Barrington High School and worked at the Outlet Company in Providence for many years before her retirement in 1980. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church, Swansea where she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
An excellent cook, she loved to travel and treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth L. Smith and her husband Richard of Swansea; Mary Jane Lenon of Lakeville; one son, Harvey P. Lenon of Warren; one sister, Norma Pearson of Riverside; three grandchildren, Kevin Richard Smith, Jessica Ann Smith and Jason Winston Elliott; two great-grandchildren, Richard Lenon Smith and Autumn Elizabeth Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank W. Dalessio, Philomena E. DeRensis and Dora A. Florenzano.
As a consequence of current restrictions on public gatherings, her funeral services were private. A public memorial service at St. Dominic’s Church will be announced at a later date. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
