Anna V. Byrne

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Lowicki) Leszczynski, she was a graduate of Durfee High School, class of 1941, and was a longtime resident of Swansea. She was employed for seventeen years as a telephone operator at the former Condon and Carpenter Co., retiring in 1988.

Surviving: one son Thomas Byrne of Fall River, one daughter Marilyn Ashley and her husband William of Rock Hill, SC., four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Louis Leszczynski, Helen Letteris, Jenny Machado, Irene Zanrucha, and Florence Guimond.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 GAR Highway, Swansea. Her family will greet friends Thursday morning from 9 – 10 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCH CREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea prior to her Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Holy Spirit, Senior Fellowship, 160 Rock St., Fall River, MA 02720.
