Antone O. Gracia

Antone O. “Tony” Gracia, age 80 of Swansea, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 in RI Hospital surrounded by his loving children. He was the husband of the late Joan (Simmons) Gracia.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Francisco and Sara (Oliveira) Gracia, he was a lifelong area resident. Tony was a graduate of Diman Regional Vocational High School, class of 1956 and he attended Roger Williams University and SMU where he received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Electrical engineering. He served in the United States Navy. He employed for 31 years as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer at NUSC, Newport Naval Base retiring in 2008.

Tony loved his family, he enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, cooking and telling jokes; he was known for having a great sense of humor.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Gracia and his wife Carol of Swansea; a daughter, Brenda Massa and her husband David of Westport, four grandchildren, Laura and David Massa and Kenneth and Jesse Gracia; two sisters, Terry Sardinha of Swansea and Tina Silvia of Fall River and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank, Gil and Al Gracia.

His burial will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:00PM in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Milford Road, Swansea. Arrangements are in the care of WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA 02777.
