Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Manuel and Georgina (Borges) Vieira, he came to the US in the late 1960’s and has lived in Swansea for the past 39 years. Mr. Vieira was a lifelong farmer and also worked as a laborer with McHoulin Construction for several years.
Surviving in addition to his wife: 3 sons – Louis Vieira of New Bedford, Edward Vieira of Brazil, Michael Vieira of East Providence, 1 daughter: Elizabeth Vieira of Swansea, 2 brothers: Francisco Vieira of New Bedford, John Vieira of Osterville, 1 sister: Maria Amaral of New Bedford, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Maria Fontaine and Antonio Vieira, Jr.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in Mt Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
