Daniel F. Lachance

Daniel F. Lachance, age 93, of Swansea, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Fairhurst) Lachance and the former husband of the late Beatrice (Dion) Lachance.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Honore A. and Evangeline (Pelletier) Lachance.

Daniel worked as an Ironworker for the Local 37 for 35 years before retiring in 1991. A member of the Swansea Seniors and First Friday Club, he enjoyed skiing, bike riding and walking. Above all else, Daniel was a true family man and cherished his loved ones immensely.

He is survived by three sons, Dr. Daniel H. Lachance, MD of Minnesota, Roger H. Lachance and his wife Debra of Florida and Michael F. Lachance and his wife Cindy of Swansea; one sister, Jeannette Suprenant of Swansea; two step-daughters, Carol Perry and her husband Jack of Bradford and Kathy Messier and her husband Richard of Swansea; one step-son, Edward Moreira of Dartmouth; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Daniel was the father of the late Paul Lachance, brother of the late Honore A. Lachance, Jr., Richard Lachance and Beatrice Dion and stepfather of the late Sheila Horton and Pauline Messier.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
