David B. Jacques, age 65, of Rehoboth, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Karen L. (Pare) Jacques, with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage with on June 12th.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Harold and Jane (Rhodes) Jacques, he lived in Warwick for many years before moving to Rehoboth in 1994.
A graduate of Pilgrim High School, Class of 1973, David worked at FedEx for many years, retiring in 2016. Most recently he was working on the Newport Naval Base at the Naval Exchange Warehouse.
An avid train collector, David loved doing yard work and taking care of his chickens. He enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun Casino and he especially loved taking trips to Vermont and always dreamed of moving there one day.
In addition to his wife survivors include: one son, Ryan Jacques of Rehoboth; one daughter, Bethany Amado and her husband Tony of Riverside; two grandchildren, Adrian and Avery Amado; one brother, Richard Jacques and his wife Helen of Attleboro; mother-in-law, Louise Pare of Rehoboth; brother-in-law, Kevin Pare of Riverside; cousin, Sheila Matthews; several nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his dog Rocky.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 9am from Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. John of God Church, 1036 Brayton Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
