

David W. Olsen, age 71, of Dighton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Clifton Rehabilitation Center in Somerset. He was the devoted husband of Patricia M. (Slusarz) Olsen, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage. The couple would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary this October.
Born in Weymouth, David was the son of the late Howard B. and Virginia H. (Palby) Olsen.
A 1973 graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Vocational High School, David dedicated much of his working life to skilled trades. He most recently spent 27 years with Mass Tank & Engineering in Middleboro, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic and truck driver.
David had a lifelong passion for vintage trucks and found great enjoyment in commercial fishing, camping, and the companionship of his many beloved dogs. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, David is survived by his loving son, Gregory Francis Olsen of Dighton. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Olsen.
Pat and Greg wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Dighton Ambulance Service for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they showed David and their family throughout these past several months. Their dedication and support will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
