Dorothy Jean

Born and raised in Fall River, the daughter of Grace (Roy) Ferland of Fall River and the late Leo J. Ferland, she attended BMC Durfee High School and moved to Swansea in 1971. Mrs. Jean was employed as a Certified Medical Assistant with several area doctors until her retirement. She was the former Secretary and Vice President of the Fall River Medical Assistant Association.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by five children: Marc Jean of Swansea, Gail Fournier of Fall River, Darlene Aguiar of Fall River, Scot Jean and his wife Betty of Swansea and Brian Jean and his wife Donna of Swansea; two sisters Claudete Richard of Fall River and Diane Badger of E. Providence; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 6 to 8PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by her Funeral Service at 8PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial will be private.
