Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Harold V. and Cora (Sowter) Davis, she lived in Pawtucket and Warren for many years before moving to Greenfield five years ago to be near her family.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1948, she worked as a medical assistant for the Southcoast Health Group in Swansea, area doctor’s offices and at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket for forty years before her retirement in 2005.
An active member of the First Christian Congregational Church also known as “The Old White Church,” she was involved in preparing meals at the church, working at the thrift store and putting together the church cookbook. A true lover of history and genealogy, she was a member of the Warren Historical Society.
Mrs. O’Neil was artistically talented and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She will be remembered for her arts and crafts, cooking, and especially for her kindness.
She is survived by one son, Paul M. O’Neil and his wife Karen of Leyden, MA; one sister, Pamela Crofton and her husband Dale of Tavares, FL, one granddaughter Kathleen C. O’Neil of Leyden, MA and several cousins.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 9:30AM in the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, MA 02777. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited.
