The passing of Great Aunt Ellen was very upsetting and a major loss for the Furtado family. It was great to see many in the family and we will never forget the memories from the summer get-together’s in Narragansett.

Words cannot express how sorry I am to learn that Ellen has passed away. The Lord makes no mistakes, and His talents excelled when He created Ellen. She had eyes that sparkled and danced, a smile that lit the world, and a heart filled with love for everyone. She was the textbook definition of kindness and compassion, honesty and integrity. She had vision, insight, and a helluva sense of humor. She had character, charm, and personality. She was dedicated and trustworthy, interesting and interested. She was my friend, and I will miss her dearly. I will count her friendship among my blessings and my most prized possessions. Rest peacefully, my Friend. With deepest sympathies…

To the Furtado family,

My sincere condolences during this time for all of you. I have great memories of Ellen Furtado at the Cedar Cove club as I totally indulged in the burgers and french fries she would cook in between me giving tennis lessons there. She always had a friendly smile and kind words.

Thoughts and hugs to each of you,
Lori Holmes
