Born in Norton, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Ida (Burgess) Briggs.
Mrs. Blackmar worked in bookkeeping for several businesses in the area before retiring. An avid reader, Emily also enjoyed gardening and was a former member of the Finance Committee for the Town of Rehoboth.
Survivors include: one son, Wayne S. Blackmar of Attleboro; two daughters, Anne E. Mulrey and her husband Scott of Florida and Carolyn A. Mullen and her husband Robert Mullen, Jr. of Somerset; one granddaughter, Katherine Mulrey of Florida; one great granddaughter, Reagan Mulrey and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by ten siblings.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
