Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Oscar and Laura (Bacon) Boulay.
Pete graduated from Prevost High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He worked at Montaup Electric Co. for 37 years and retired as Operational Supervisor/Chief Engineer in 1993. He had earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from B.C.C. in his later years.
Pete was most proud of being a founding member of the Allegro Glee Club in 1949 and performing with that group for a number of years. He also joined his beautiful tenor voice to several local church choirs through the years.
He was an avid golfer who enjoyed the camaraderie of several good friends both on the course and out for lunches during his retirement years.
Besides his devoted wife, Pete is survived by two daughters, Laurie Pavao and her husband Mark of Warren, RI and Leslie Boulay and her husband Dave Rieker of Des Plaines, IL; four step-children, Rochelle Vagenas and her husband Ioannis of Swansea, Dennis Michaud of Swansea, Stephen Michaud and his wife Kristine of Fall River and Amy Quick and her husband John of Tiverton, RI; six grandchildren, Leslie and Cole Pavao, Kyle Rieker, Amanda Michaud, Kostas Vagenas and Sophia Quick; and two great-grandchildren, Lily Rose and Isaac with a third on the way. He was the brother of the late Florian, Bertrand, Paul, Bernard, Robert, Rita, Rita II and Gertrude Boulay, Yvette Antaya, Lauretta Messier and Georgette LeComte.
His Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis de France Church, 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
