Frank P. Venturini, age 82, of Swansea, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Friday, October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Margaret L. (Frenette) Venturini, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Regoli) Venturini. He proudly graduated from Joseph Case High School, Class of 1961. Frank built a successful career as a tile setter, working with Venturini Brothers Tile and Marble, Acme Tile, and Regal Floor Covering. A respected member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen Union for 64 years, he officially retired in 2008—but never truly stopped working. With decades of construction experience and an unmatched work ethic, Frank was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors in need.
Frank’s dedication to his community extended well beyond his work. He served for many years with Troop 16 of the Boy Scouts of America in Swansea, actively supporting and sharing in his son’s experiences throughout their time in the Scouts. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his immediate and extended family—he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son who cherished being surrounded by his loved ones, including his beloved dogs.
Frank also found great joy in the outdoors—he enjoyed fishing, gardening, operating his multiple tractors, and watching the many birds and wildlife that visited his yard. Living on the river gave him the perfect setting to build a beautiful dock, barn, and home which served as the hub for family activity. Whether it was his children arriving to use the boats or bringing the grandkids and dogs for a visit, his home was the pulse of the family, and he loved it.
Along with his wife Margaret (Peg), Frank is survived by their children: Karen Nadeau of Swansea; Frank P. Venturini Jr. and his wife Denise of Dighton; Steven Venturini and his wife Martha of Dighton; and John Venturini of Swansea. He was a proud grandfather to Dylan Buckborough and his wife Sadey of Swansea; Abagael Buckborough of Swansea; Sarah Venturini of Dighton; Laura Venturini of Dighton; and Steven Venturini Jr. of Dighton. He is also survived by his sisters: Ruth Malgieri and her husband Al of Boynton Beach, FL, and Little Compton, RI; June Roy of Somerset; and Judith Mackie and her husband James Harvey Mackie of Swansea. He was the brother of the late Anne Marie Prendergast.
His funeral will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s honor may be made to the ASPCA.
