

Gregory “Greg” Murgo, age 72, of Swansea, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 07, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia E. “Ginny” (Lawlor) Murgo to whom he has been married for the past 22 years.
Born in Everett, Massachusetts, a son of the late Dominic and Audrey (Hillier) Murgo, he spent his youth in Bristol and lived in Middletown for many years before moving to Swansea, Massachusetts over 20 years ago.
A graduate of East Providence High School, he was a Regional Manager at Town and Country Transportation and a driver for RIPTA for many years before retiring in 2012. After retirement he worked as a driver for the Leon Mathieu Senior Center in Pawtucket.
He was a member of the St. Alban’s Grand Masonic Lodge #6 in Bristol for over 50 years and enjoyed taking trips to Maine.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother; Anthony “Tony” Murgo and his wife Lisa of Middletown, one sister; Paula Morris and her husband Thomas of Newport, two step-sons; Douglas Benoit and his wife Jacqueline of Swansea, Luke Benoit and his wife Susan of Bridgewater and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held Monday, November 14, 2106 at 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Homes of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited.
