

She was born in Fall River the daughter of the late John T. and Josephine (Ouellette) Wrigley; she spent her youth in Fall River, was a 1939 graduate of BMC Durfee High School, and has been a resident of Swansea for over 70 years.
Mrs. Shorrock was employed for many years as a Sewing Machine Operator for several area shops including Tick Tock Frock and Anderson Little. She was a member of the ILGWU and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening ceramics, cooking and music. She along with her late husband were members of the Royal Travelers, having traveled to Austria, France, Italy, England, Canada, Bermuda, Venice, Curacao and the Caribbean just to name a few. Mr. & Mrs. Shorrock were accomplished Ballroom and Line Dancers and could be seen at many establishments dancing including the Liberal Club, the Bluffs, Lincoln Park and the Progressive Club.
She is survived by her three children Mark N. Shorrock Jr. and his wife Nancy of Attleboro, Gerald J. Shorrock and his wife Pauline of Berkley and Eve M. Leach of Swansea; a sister Josephine “Orena” Botelho; eleven grandchildren, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shorrock was also the mother in-law of the late George Leach Jr. and sister of the late Florence Wrigley.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by her funeral mass at 10am in St. Francis of Assisi Church 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours are Today (Wednesday) from 4-8pm. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
