Hilda Estrella

She was born in St. Michael Azores the daughter of the late John Almeida and the late Maria DeGloria (Medeiros) Almeida. She came to Fall River in 1947, was very happy to become a US Citizen and has been a resident of Swansea since 1956, where she was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She was employed in the garment industry as a seamstress for many years. Hilda loved her family, her church, was an exceptional cook and a creative seamstress.

She is survived by one son Joseph M. Estrella Jr. of No. Dighton, two daughters Juliette Lamarre, and Cheryl Anne Leonardo both of Swansea, and the late Brenda Estrella Holsinger, five grandchildren Michael and Kristina Lamarre, Mark Estrella, Dennis and Julee Leonardo, three great grandchildren Forest Lamarre, J.P. and Cameron Estrella. She was also sister of the late Juliette Arruda and Joseph Almeida.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Road Swansea followed by a funeral mass at 10AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church 530 Gardner’s Neck Road Swansea.
