Ian Hastings

Born in New Zealand, the son of the late Frederick G. and Beatrice (Fitzgerald) Hastings, he immigrated to the United States in 1963 to San Francisco before settling in Chicago in 1965.

Mr. Hastings was a self employed Artist, authored and illustrated children’s books and was Director for Success Unlimited Magazine in Chicago, prior to that he worked as a Cartoonist in New Zealand. He was also an accomplished wood carver and painter.

He is survived by his two children Dr. Warren I. Hastings and his wife Linda of Homewood, IL and Tanya E. Hastings of Swansea; two grandchildren Matthew W. and Kaitlin A. Hastings and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Hastings was also the brother of the late Roy and Betty Hastings.

His Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.
