Irene R. Aubin

Irene R. (Cummings) Aubin, age 87 of Swansea died September 2, 2011 at the Catholic Memorial Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Albert R. Aubin and longtime companion of the late Michael Hadala, with whom she enjoyed bowling, dancing and traveling.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Laroche) Cummings, she was a communicant of the former St. Michael’s Church now St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Woman Club, Swansea Seniors, the Royal Travelers and American Legion Auxiliary Post 303. She worked for many years in the Swansea School Department before retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her four children Susanne I. Comiskey of Swansea, Robert J. Aubin of Naples, FL, Richard W. Aubin and his wife Cindy of Middletown, RI, Paul A. Aubin and wife Lynn of Assonet, one sister Claire Lyne of Swansea, two brothers George Cummings of Ft. Myers, FL and Rudy Cummings and wife Annette of Somerset, three sister – in-laws; Stella Cummings of Fall River, Theresa Cummings of Somerset and Cecil Cummings of Fall River, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Albert, William, Raymond, Herve, and Omer Cummings.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by her funeral mass at 10am in St. Francis of Assisi Church 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 8pm. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Beacon Hospice 182 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
