James E. Dolin, “Jimmy,” age 72, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Somerset Ridge Center. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Billy E. and Mary N. (Fonseca) Dolin, he was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, he attended Bristol Community College. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. James worked as a caseworker for the Department of Transitional Assistance.
A lifetime member of the American Legion, he was Past President of Citizens for Citizens and served on the Swansea Board of Conservation and Housing Authority. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to Foxwoods.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda V. Searle and her husband Ran of McAllister, TX; one brother, Gerald “Gene” Dolin and his wife Joyce of Swansea; two sisters, Pamela J. Dias and her husband Anthony of Westport, Linda M. Taylor of Fall River; two grandchildren, Braxton and Zayden Searle and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Bruce “Skipper” Loudin III.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 10:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 S.E. 1st St., Ste. 800, Miami, FL 33131. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
