James T. Medeiros Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2026. He is the son of Marilyn Simard and the late James T. Medeiros Sr., and is also survived by his stepmother, Cathy Medeiros.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sue Medeiros; his children, Adam Medeiros and his wife, Britni, and Erin Medeiros and her husband, Jason; and his cherished grandchildren, Nora, Rhaegar, Myles, and Maddox. He took immense pride in his grandchildren and loved capturing their smiles, milestones, and special moments with his camera.
Jim is also survived by his siblings, Lisa Rogers, David Medeiros, Kevin Medeiros, and Michael Medeiros. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Medeiros, who will always be lovingly remembered.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jim served from 1976 to 1979. He dedicated 37 years to the Fall River school department before retiring in 2021. He was an avid enthusiast of cars and motorcycles and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and camping. He found great joy in exploring nature, flying drones, and pursuing his love of photography. After retirement, he joined the Mass Audubon Society and often spent hours in the woods waiting to capture the perfect shot.
Jim transformed his garage into the famous “Cave 136,” a special place where friends and family gathered to share laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments, especially while cheering on the Patriots as they rose to glory.
As we remember Jim, we take comfort in the countless joyful memories he created and shared with us. He will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Mass Audubon Society.
A private celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
