Janet E. Dias

Janet E. (Boutin) Dias, age 87, of Swansea, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Joseph Dias, with whom she shared 37 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Providence, Janet was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Gladys V. (Thayer) Boutin.

A proud member of the first graduating class of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, Class of 1957, Janet built a career in accounting, working in accounts receivable and payable for T. Sardelli & Sons in Cranston and later for the former Quaker Fabrics in Fall River. She retired in 2002 after many years of dedicated service.

A woman of deep faith, Janet was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she belonged to the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Women's Guild at St. Dominic's Church. Her faith, kindness, and willingness to serve others were hallmarks of her life.

Janet found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, and sharing her talents in the kitchen through baking and cooking. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth.

In addition to her beloved husband, Joseph, Janet is survived by her loving son, Kevin Lachut and his wife, Amy, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her 22 cherished grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her with love and gratitude.

She was the beloved mother of the late Kerri A. Conway and the dear sister of the late Raymond and Richard Boutin.

Her Funeral Mass will held Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA followed by burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited directly to church. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA.
