Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Frank and Georgianna (Rebello) Carreiro, she had lived in many places along the East Coast. A graduate of B.M.C Durfee High School, she went on to work in many different fields including telemarketing, dry cleaning and owning and operating a floral shop.
An active member of the First Christian Congregational Church, she enjoyed volunteering in their thrift shop. A former communicant of Sacred Heart and Notre Dame Churches she cared for many people while participating in the Coalition for Basic Human needs and other Catholic Charities.
Janice lived her life to the fullest and will be remembered for her ability to entertain and for her sense of humor.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Carreiro) Thibault of Swansea; one son, Jay Carreiro of Swansea; one sister, Carol Szlanda; one brother, Raymond Carreiro and his wife Florence; three grandchildren, Omer “OJ” Thibault, Colin Thibault and Chloe Thibault; one great grandson, Oliver Thibault and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Carreiro Jr.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 7th at 10 am, in the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. A gathering will follow downstairs in the church hall. For directions and tributes, www.waringsullivan.com
