Jo-Anne (O’Brien) Pagliaroni, age 83, of Swansea, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Stephen G. “Steve” Pagliaroni.
Born in Providence, Jo-Anne was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Ruth E. (Booker) O’Brien. She was a proud graduate of Joseph Case High School and later earned her C.N.A. certification from Bristol Community College. With a career dedicated to compassionate care, Jo-Anne served for over 30 years at both the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center and Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center, retiring as Staff Coordinator in 2000.
Family was the heart of Jo-Anne’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for her warm spirit and loving nature, she also found great joy in decorating and reading.
Jo-Anne is survived by her children: Michael G. Foley of Pawtucket; Kristen A. Turcotte and her partner Daniel Durso of North Attleboro; Kerin E. Gaboriau and her husband Roger of Tiverton; Matthew E. Foley and his partner John Sheppard of Baltimore, MD; Brian S. Pagliaroni and his wife Lori of Middletown; and Anthony D. Pagliaroni and his wife Anne of Swansea.
She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Laura Rothwell Norman, Matthew Chorney, Erin Keyes, Daniel Chorney, Meghan Pagliaroni, Triston Pagliaroni, Noah Pagliaroni, Evan Pagliaroni, and Wyatt Pagliaroni; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Daniel E. O’Brien and Gail A. Verville.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service, Burial will be private.
