Joan N. (Pavao) Bower, age 73, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of the late John C. Bower and loving mother and grandmother.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Joseph and Silvana (Alves) Pavao, she lived in New York and Florida for the past several years.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica McDonald and her husband Mark of Florida and Julie Bower of New York; two grandchildren, Charlotte and Maxwell McDonald; three brothers, Joseph Pavao, Jr. and his wife Geraldine of Florida, James Pavao and his wife Karen of Maryland, and John Pavao and his wife Laurie of Somerset, Massachusetts; one sister, Jane Pavao of Dighton, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Marie Pavao also of Dighton, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Joyce Swanson and Jeffrey Pavao, sister-in-law of the late Robert Swanson, and daughter-in-law of the late John and Marion (Cadorette) Bower.
Her Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, Massachusetts. Burial will follow in Nathan Slade Cemetery. Visiting hours Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
