

Born in Fall River, son of the late Albert and Anna (Gallant) Janson, he has been a Swansea resident since 1962. He worked at the US Naval Air Station in Quonset, RI for twenty seven years, retiring in 1973. After his retirement Mr. Janson also worked for Lutz Engineering in Providence for ten years and later Ideal Fundraising in Tiverton.
An Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre as a member of the 393rd Engineer Fighter Squadron.
Mr. Janson was a communicant of the former St. Michael’s Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea. He was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Knights of Columbus and was an avid bowler and golfer.
He is survived by one son Robert Janson and his wife Joyce of Swansea; two daughters Diane Tremblay and her husband Gerard of Swansea and Helen Lawlor of Long Island, NY; one brother Arthur Janson of Fall River, four grandchildren Capt. Julie A. Janson USAF, Shannon Santos, Shayne Hetherson and Jill Tasei; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul Janson and Doris Arcouette.
His funeral will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 9AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7PM. Burial will be private.
