
Born in Swansea, a son of the late Joseph Salvas and Edwilda (Parent) Gosselin and step-son of the late Omer Gosselin, he had been a lifelong resident of Swansea.
Mr. Salvas worked as a Service Manager for Coca-Cola for 35 years before retiring in 1989. He was one of the founding members of the Swansea Youth Recreation Center. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome and woodworking.
He is survived by three sons: Joseph R. Salvas Jr. and his partner Deborah LePage, Michael R. Salvas, David R. Salvas and his wife Brenda, one daughter: Susan Znoj and her husband James, son-in-law; Jerome M. Grota all of Swansea, twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Dianne L. Grota and brother of the late Robert Salvas.
His visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.
