Joseph M. Silvia

Joseph M. Silvia, age 80, of Somerset, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the long-time companion of over 40 years to the late Sandra A. Smith.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph M. Silvia and the Late Rose M. (Mello) Silvia, Joe was employed as a forklift operator for several local businesses throughout the south coast including, Ocean Spray, Alden Auto Parts, Ann and Hope Garden Center and Brayton Point Power.

Joe enjoyed trips to the water and simple conversation. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed quiet time at home. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and could always be found routing for his team on game day.

He is survived by his two sons, Jason P. Hill and his partner Melissa Andresen and Jared Hill; four grandchildren, Jason F. Hill and his wife Nicole, Mackenzie Hill, Brady LePage, and Jackson LePage; two great grandchildren Lillyana and Hudson Hill; a sister Rosemary Rego and a brother Manuel Silvia.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Burial will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest in Swansea.
