Joseph V. Swist

Joseph “Joe” V. Swist, age 72, of North Dighton, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Kathleen “Kathy” A. (Couitt) Swist to whom he had been married for 52 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph B. and Marjorie (Avalon) Swist, he was a lifelong area resident. He was the owner and operator of American Jewelry Chain in Providence for fifteen years. An avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed spending time with his family, dining out and boating.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Keith Swist and his wife Shannon of Seekonk and Kevin Swist and his wife Jessica of Dighton; one brother, Peter Swist and his wife Joy of Crestview, FL; four grandchildren, Ryan, Tristen, Molly and Tyler Swist; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Swist and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul and Bruce Swist.

His visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited.
