Kenneth G. Collins

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late William Collins and Emily (Barros) Collins.

Kenny worked as a Slitter Operator for Texas Instruments for 38 years before his retirement in 1999. After retiring from TI, Kenny could be found helping customers at Swansea’s PriceRite until it closed.

An avid farmer, he enjoyed gardening and tending to his chickens. In the winter months, you could find Kenny in front of the fire building one of his many Lego sets.

Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sherry Mello and her husband Richard and Priscilla Matton and her husband Brendan all of Swansea; two grandchildren, Hannah and Matthew Mello as well as several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jenna Marie Mello and all nine of his siblings.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 9:00AM from Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 GAR Highway, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Vinnicum Woods, Swansea. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00PM.
