Lamont W. Beaudette, “Mickey,” age 72, of Swansea, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 unexpectedly. He was the husband of Florence M. (Lambert) Beaudette to whom he has been married for the past 52 years.
Born in Dover, New Hampshire, a son of the late Lamont A. and Annette (Labrecque) Beaudette, he lived in Dover for many years before moving to Swansea in 1976.
A graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1959 and the University of New Hampshire, he was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Mick’s service in the Navy proved to be the start of his career filled with passion. Mick excelled in academics and leadership in all phases of his Navy nuclear and electronics engineering training. His passion in leadership was noticed by all his commanders and received many commendations for his success over his six year tour on nuclear submarines.
Mr. Beaudette started his 40 year career in the energy industry and worked for New England Power in Salem relocating to the Somerset plant in 1976 and most recently was a consultant with Footprint Power in Salem. He enjoyed History and working in his yard.
Surviving in addition to his wife, three sons; David Beaudette of Swansea, Michael Beaudette and spouse Michael Convey of Attleboro, Greg Beaudette and wife Debra of Swansea, one daughter; Kristen Leddy and husband Brian of Hamden, CT, one sister; Helen Flanagan and husband Neil of Dover, NH, four grandchildren; Ryan and Zachary Beaudette and twins Samantha and Christopher Leddy, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Roland and Steven Beaudette.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the David F. Bemis Jr. Memorial Fund, 75 Old Dover Point Rd., Dover, NH 03820. Burial Private.
