

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph and Anita (Marion) Belanger, he lived in New Bedford for many years prior to moving to Swansea in 1975.
A graduate of the former St. Anthony’s High School in New Bedford, he worked as a production manager for Alden Corrugated in New Bedford until its closure and then at J and J in Franklin.
Leo was very friendly and always left a lasting impression on the people he met. He coached many youth sports in Swansea throughout the years, baseball, soccer and basketball. His heart was full when at home sitting in his yard listening to the Red Sox on his radio, doing projects for his wife and most of all spending time with her and his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Noel Belanger and his wife Stacie of Somerset, Keith Belanger of Warren, OH; one daughter, Rachel Turner and her husband Dan of Somerset; two sisters, Irene Belanger of Nashua, NH, Claire Egan; two brothers, Marcel Belanger and his wife Lisa, Brian Belanger and his wife Ann Marie all of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Molly, Nicholas, Taylor, Sydney; two step-grandchildren, David and Joshua, one great-grandson Asher and many nieces and nephews.
Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, Swansea.
