Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Albert and Alida (Heon) Ashworth, she lived in Swansea most of her life.
Miss Ashworth was a typist for the Fall River Herald News for 17 years. Prior to that she worked as a teller for the Bank of Boston for 10 years. She was a member of Ocean Grove Senior Center and member and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary. An active member of the former St. Michael’s Church, she and her late brother, David, will be remembered for their musical participation in the St. Michael’s “Follies” for many years.
Surviving: Her Dear Friends: Manuel and Lorraine Silveira of Swansea. She was sister of the late David Ashworth.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 8:30 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Her family will greet friends from 8:30-9:30 AM Wednesday morning prior to her mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Fall River Jewish Home, 538 Robeson St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
