Mary F. (Cunningham) Caravella, age 80, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully February 17, 2011 after a long illness. She was the wife of Samuel R. Caravella to whom she has been married for the past 53 years.
Born in Brookline, a daughter of the late John and Frances (Gorman) Cunningham, she was a longtime resident of Braintree. She and her husband moved to Bonita Springs, Florida upon retirement in 1988.
Mrs. Caravella was a graduate of Brookline High School, class of 1948. In addition to being a homemaker, she was also office manager for her family run oil heating company.
Surviving in addition to her husband, one daughter, Suzann Rogers and her husband David of Swansea, three sons Peter Caravella and wife Paula of Plymouth, Matthew Caravella of Florida, Paul Caravella and his wife Maureen of Stoughton, WI, two brothers Joseph and Edward Cunningham, one sister Frances Nuzzo, four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Jonathan, and Madelyn Caravella and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Louise, Eleanor, Jack, and Leo.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 9:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd. Swansea. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701. Burial Private.
