

Michael M. McCann, age 76, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Ann (Boyer) McCann who was the love of his life.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Raymond A. and Florence E. (Clarkson) McCann, he had been a resident of Swansea since 1968.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, he attended Diman Trade School and was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was also a Naval Reservist from 1973 to 1992. He volunteered at the Battleship Cove for many years and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors.
Mr. McCann worked as a Machinist at Raytheon for 39 years before retiring in 2004 and was a member of the Retired Machinist Union. A communicant of St. Dominic’s Church, he enjoyed bowling and cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughter and best friend, Mary R. Abreu and her husband Daniel of Swansea, brother, Timothy P. McCann of Norwood, MA, sister, Susan E. McCann of Tarpon Springs, FL, granddaughters who he adored Alyson Johnson R.N. and her husband Dino and Abigail Heron, great-granddaughter, Pia Judith Johnson , best friend, Ron Nahas and many nieces and nephews. He was the loving father of the late Judith Heron and Shaun McCann.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 8:30AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30AM in St. Dominic's Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, MA 02777. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Church. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
