Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Horace A. and Edith L. (Couture) Pelletier.
A graduate of Joseph Case Senior High School, Class of 1971, Mimi then received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bridgewater State University in 1975. She was the Director of Marketing for numerous assisted living and skilled nursing facilities throughout her 25-year career.
Mimi was active in the Chamber of Commerce and was a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association. She enjoyed gardening, reading, studying history and genealogy and decorating for every season. She especially loved time spent by the water, particularly the beach.
She is survived by three children, Meghan Hastings and her partner David Kaskeski of Granby, Jeffrey Hastings of Warren, RI and Christopher Hastings and his fiancé Jessica Ferreira of Somerset; four grandchildren, Charlotte Marie and Nathaniel Thomas Valle and Landon James and Alaena Marie Martin; three siblings, Melanie Demoranville and her husband Bruce, Peter Pelletier and his wife Denise and Michael Pelletier and his wife Debrah; one sister-in-law, Theresa Pelletier; thirteen nieces and nephews and her beloved Shih Tzu, Phoebe who will miss her dearly. Mimi was the sister of the late Paul Pelletier.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mimi’s honor may be made to the Horace A. and Edith L. Pelletier Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Joseph Case High School Trust, P.O. Box 33, Swansea, MA 02777.
