Born on May 20, 1953 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Nicholas A. DiGiammo and Elvira (Alves) DiGiammo.
After moving to Somerset, Nick lived on Regan Road through early adulthood, graduating from Somerset High School, before enrolling at Bristol Community College. Later, he would go on to enter the workforce, where he eventually found his calling as a machinist. He spent the early years of his career working for Raytheon before starting a business of his own at his home in Rehoboth. As the Owner/Operator of K.N.D. Machine Co. for the next 30+ years, he made anything that anyone could need – a small job for a farmer, production parts for high-end sailboats, or something you simply couldn’t buy on the shelf.
Nick will be remembered for his dedicated love of family and friends, and his ability to build community – a community that will forever be grateful for his place in the center of it. He enjoyed working in the yard alongside his wife, hunting and the outdoors, riding his Harley, or simply sitting around a fire. He approached every situation, good or bad, with an open mind and a resolve to “make it better”.
In addition to his wife, Debra, Nick (Big Nick, Mr. D, Dad, Papa) is survived by his daughter Kelly DiGiammo, of Swansea, and his son Nicholas A. DiGiammo, of Lowell. He is also survived by his sister Rosemary Costa and her husband Augustine, of Somerset, his two grandsons – Brayden Cabral and Chace Cabral, of Swansea – and his niece and nephews, Laurie, Steven and Jim as well as his beloved four-legged family, Rocky and Sandy, and dozens of chickens too.
The DiGiammo family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. A special thanks to Dr. David Fischer, the Lymphoma and Clinical Study teams, and all the staff on the 6th and 7th floors of DFCI – a source of strength, energy, and love for our entire family.
The DiGiammo Family will host a celebration of life, with music, food, refreshments, and fire – just the way Nick would do – at their home at 63 Blanding Rd., Rehoboth, MA on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:00pm.
Please send RSVP’s to his wife Debra or his son Nick no later than August 30th.
